Mission Statement

The general purpose of the FIST is to establish a coalition of independent captains to work in concert with their fellow members for the common good of this Brotherhood.  This Brotherhood will be dedicated in pursuing various games, books and movies related to piracy, privateering, or sailing in general.  A captain’s standing within the Brotherhood will be based on his or her participation in our various endeavors


Goals

Tyranny Harbor: Forum

The goal of the FIST forum is to become the preeminent Brotherhood dedicated to the spreading of information related to piracy, privateering and sailing throughout the archipelagos.  To use a quote of Cpt RedGoatee:  "We want to make the FIST, and "Tyranny Harbor" your:  "One-Stop-Harbor" for all information regarding games, books and movies related to our interests of the sea.

Massively - Multi player Gaming:

The goal of the FIST in MMORPGs  is to become the preeminent Brotherhood dedicated to the spreading of piracy, fear and tyranny throughout the archipelagos, or space depending on the game being played.

Membership

Membership of the FIST is open to anyone who is a frequent participant in our forum or gaming activities.  Being admitted into the Brotherhood will be ruled upon by the current full members, and notification of approval or denial will be sent to the prospective member via email.  All Captains are welcome to apply regardless of Race, Gender, Creed or National origin.  Likewise, the FIST is open to Pirates, Privateers, Smugglers and Bounty Hunters.

Titles

Although the FIST does not have a rank structure that denotes authority or subordinates one member in relation to another, it does have a title system based on status.  The following status titles are suggested:

1.  Freebooter:  Member with less then 25 posts.

2.  Marauder:  Member with between 25 - 74 posts.

3.  Corsair:  Member with 75 - 174 posts.

4.  Pirate:  Member with between 175 - 399 posts..

5.  Captain:  Member with 400 or more posts.

6.  Trusted Friend of the FIST:  Special Honor granted to those captains who have been trusted friends of the FIST, yet members of another Pirate brotherhood.

7.  Sea Tyrant:  Moderator of the Tyranny Harbor.

8.  Scourge of the Seas:  Global Moderator of Tyranny  Harbor.   
      Title granted to a Co-Founding member of the FIST.

Compensation

The benefits of membership in the FIST will take several forms.  As a member of a coalition each individual member will have at his or her disposal the collected information of all other individual members.  Information sharing is a key function of this Brotherhood, and all members will be expected to participate in this task frequently.

A second and equally important benefit provided to members is protection from those outside of the FIST.  This protection is from attacks in the various forums we might sail to.  Keep in mind, as it pertains to the forum, that the FIST desires to keep all interactions between ourselves and others cordial whenever possible.  However, if you find yourself being unfairly harassed it is the duty of our Brotherhood to support you.

A third equally important benefit is a free FIST e-mail account to all full members. This may be utilized as the member chooses and helps provide a spam cover when visiting potentially hostile forums. This account can be set to have mail auto-forwarded to the members private e-mail account.

Fourth: Board moderators are chosen from FIST members who then are actively involved in forum control and advancement.

Finally, membership in the FIST will entitle you to fly our colors.  You may also seek assistance in getting images from our members to use in the creation of your own flag or website.

Codes, Laws and General Rules of this Charter

All members, regardless of their rank or station within the Brotherhood, are required to adhere to the following:

1.  Duty:  All members have a duty to each other.  It is our responsibility to ensure that all members of the FIST feel welcome, we are all an important part of our brotherhood.  All members have a duty to assist our brothers in matters concerning pirate related games or their respective forums.  This includes assisting in game tips, the sharing of general information, the free exchange of internet resources (ie. Images, or other resources of interest), as well as the exchange of stories of our quests.

2.  Honor:  All members of the FIST are representatives of our Brotherhood.  Keeping this in mind, No forms of Racism, Gender Bias, or attacks on another person based on Creed or National origin will be tolerated.  Infractions will be taken up by the general membership, and appropriate consequences will be issued by the FIST leadership.

3.  Fraternity:  Always keep this in mind:  Brothers First, Last, and Always.  Do not allow an outside party to come between yourself and your Brotherhood.  If a conflict (real world) arises where this is not possible, resign from our Brotherhood with our best wishes.
